Workshops for teachers and local leaders

The CHS JU is a centre that defines and directs a range of academic research on the Holocaust, proposes innovative teaching methods to tackle this issue and cooperates with institutions concerned with the issue of anti-Semitism and the protection of Jewish heritage.

On 26 September in Wasilków (in Poland’s Podlaskie region), experts from the CHS JU led workshops for teachers and local leaders on the topic of inter-cultural dialogue. The workshops were organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland in cooperation with Wasilków Municipality as part of the project entitled “Researching Attitudes Towards Jews and their Heritage:  Education for Tolerance – A Cooperation with Local Partners in 15 Selected Municipalities,” sponsored by the Stefan Batory Foundation. These workshops took place in the following municipalities in 2008: Frampol, Kraśnik, Łęczna, Tarnogród, Zamość in Lubelski Voivodship; Dynów, Medyca, Niebylec, Sieniawa, Sokół Małopolski in Podkarpackie Voivodship; Milejczyce, Przerośla, Suchowola and Tykocin in Podlaskie Voivodship.
